stem cell foundation sets up in edinburgh
Sunday Herald, February 2006,The UK Stem Cell Foundation has set up a project development office in Scotland after receiving a £250,000 grant from Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothians.
SE National has also dedicated pounds - 5 million over five years to provide matched funding for translational stem cell projects proposed by the foundation, as well as other organisations or companies.
The charitable foundation, which is backed by several business luminaries including biotech venture capitalist Chris Evans and Richard Branson, aims to provide pounds-100m in funding to take projects from the lab into the patient network. The foundation is reviewing seven projects, including four from Scottish researchers
